Amanda J. Ahmed earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Buffalo State College, Buffalo, NY and earned her Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from the University at Buffalo (Buffalo, NY). She holds a second Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Amanda’s focus in speech pathology is the evaluation and treatment of speech, cognitive and swallowing disorders that result from head injury or trauma. She uses a wide range of therapy techniques . She has worked in acute and subacute care, neonatal intensive care (for swallowing concerns and feeding by mouth vs tube), rehabilitation facilities and in the school setting. She is passionate about helping clients develop their full communicative potential in the settings where they are most comfortable.

Amanda is an active member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) &  Special Interest Groups: “Administration & Supervision” “Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Populations”, is active in the Texas Speech and Hearing Association and serves on TSHA’s Cultural-Linguistically Diverse Committee.

Amanda enjoys spending time with her two daughters, being with her extended family, traveling and the outdoors.
